Hillary Contreras is the creator of Quirky Squirrel, a creative lifestyle brand and blog celebrating storytelling, humor, and the joy of learning. She is also an author currently seeking representation for her debut novel, In the Presence of Wolves.
Originally from Southern California, Hillary moved to Arizona at the age of ten and grew up finding both comfort and adventure in books. A naturally curious and introspective person, she developed a lifelong love of travel, languages, and martial arts, and has pursued a wide range of careers including English professor, police dispatcher, social worker, and investigator. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for human stories and the many perspectives that shape them.
Hillary holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. Through her writing and creative work, she aims to blend wit, warmth, and authenticity — whether she is crafting fiction, designing Quirky Squirrel products, or sharing personal reflections with readers.
An introvert at heart, Hillary values quiet moments and meaningful connections. She lives in the Phoenix area with her husband, daughter, and their two Rottweilers.
