HL Contreras, author of The Quirky Squirrel Blog, holds a Master's Degree in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. She has edited a YA novel and has had poems published by the International Society of Poetry. She is currently searching for the right literary agent to help publish her debut novel, "In the Presence of Wolves."

HL Contreras is originally from Southern California. Her family moved to Arizona when she was ten years old.
HL was a shy child and found adventure in reading. She later came to love travel, languages, and martial arts. She has been a teacher, dispatcher, social worker, and an investigator - roles which have each given her unique perspectives into both the mundane and inciting happenings of humankind.
An introvert at heart, she loves the quiet. She lives in the suburbs of the Phoenix area with her husband, daughter, and the family Rottweilers.
