About the Author of The Quirky Squirrel Blog

HL Contreras, author of The Quirky Squirrel Blog, holds a Master's Degree in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. Her current project is her debut novel, "In the Presence of Wolves."

HL is originally from Southern California and moved to Arizona when she was ten years old.  She was a shy child and found both comfort and adventure in reading. She later came to love travel, languages, and martial arts. She has worked as a teacher, police dispatcher, social worker, and investigator - roles which have each given her unique perspectives of all walks of life. 

An introvert at heart, she loves the quiet. She lives in the suburbs of the Phoenix area with her husband, daughter, and the family Rottweilers.
